The Leadership Academy works to develop a network of leaders who can sustain peace and create a path to long-term inclusive and sustainable development in Guinea-Bissau. To achieve this goal, the Leadership Academy is expanding its interventions to different regions of Guinea-Bissau, and, on March 11, the Academy was launched at the provincial pole of the National School of Administration (ENA) in Bafatá.
The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Resident Representative of UNDP in Guinea-Bissau, the Governor of the Bafatá Region, traditional and religious leaders, the Regional Youth Council, the Regional Delegate for Education, the Representative of Ianda Guiné Djuntu and other Civil Society Organizations.

After the launch, a Leadership and Personal Development Course was held for members of the Regional Youth Council, the Association of the Disabled and political parties, on March 11-13. This is the 8th course promoted by the Academy.
In May, the Leadership Academy will also be launched in Buba and Canchungo, where several other trainings will take place.
Since its launch in May 2021, the Leadership Academy has trained 168 people, including 53 women, civil servants, members of political parties, civil society organizations and youth associations.
An initiative implemented by UNDP in partnership with the National School of Administration, with support from the United Nations Peacebuilding Fund.
