Democratic Governnace

Summary

UNDP’s Democratic Governance Programme focuses on building strong democratic institutions to help Georgia achieve its national priorities defined by the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Association Agreement with the European Union.

We work to promote democratic governance at all levels. Our goal is to support institutional and organizational development for achieving the balance of power, decentralization, local development, gender-responsive policies, social inclusion, the rule of law, media freedom, citizen engagement, and the protection of human rights and liberties.

Our international expertise and thorough understanding of the local environment help us bring people and institutions together, foster partnerships and promote participation, accountability and effectiveness.
