Human Rights Talks: Struggle for Women's Rights in Georgia

On 29 November, 3:00 pm, at Union of Tbilisi Museums – Ilia Chavchavadze Literary‐Memorial Museum (7 Ivane Javakhishvili Str, Tbilisi), the European Union and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) will finalise a series of monthly discussions “Human Rights Talks” with an insightful debate on women’s rights in Georgia, presented by the renowned Georgian writer, Tamta Melashvili.

The event is part of this year’s 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence and the UNDP-led campaign “Act for Rights Now!” 

The event is open to the public. The venue is accessible to persons with physical disabilities. English, Georgian, and sign language interpretation will be provided.

Background Information

Human Rights Talks is a series of monthly discussions covering a range of human rights issues. It aims to engage civil society, youth, policymakers, and the public in an open and informative exchange on the fundamental role of human rights in promoting and sustaining democratic values.

Human Rights Talks are supported by the EU and UNDP in a close partnership with the Union of Tbilisi Museums – Ilia Chavchavadze Literary-Memorial Museum.
