Gaël Ollivier - Deputy Resident Representative
Gaël Ollivier is UNDP Deputy Resident Representative, Programme and Operations, in Djibouti since August 1st, 2020. He brings various experience in the strategic planning of development activities, programming modalities, risk management and operational support.
He joined UNDP in 2004 to assist the electoral process in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He supported in 2007 the Peace Building joint programme in Burundi. He moved in 2008 to UNDP Legal Office, New York, as focal point for all francophone and Spanish speaking countries. He acted as UNDP Deputy Resident Representative a.i. in Algeria (2012), Panama (2013) and Mauritania (2014). Gaël was also project manager of the Global Fund programme in Chad from 2016 to 2020.
Before joining UNDP, he practiced in private law firms in Paris, London and New York. He is a member of the Paris bar since 1998. He holds a LL.M. in European Community Law, University of Essex, United Kingdom (1996) and a D.E.A. in Business Law, University of Paris X, France (1995).
