Philippe Clerc
Deputy Resident Representative
Philippe Clerc has been appointed as UNDP Deputy Resident Representative, Programme and Operations, in Djibouti since mid-May 2024. He brings broad experience in the aid sector ranging from development, humanitarian, and policy work since 1997 in Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. He worked with numerous international organizations in various operations/programme and management capacities.
Before Djibouti, he was with the UNDP in Turkey and Egypt as a Resilience Development Adviser working on diverse thematic around aid governance and coordination, livelihood, particularly on forced displacement population, host community socio-economic empowerment, and resilience in close partnership with public and private stakeholders.
He holds Master's degrees in humanitarian/development and human rights, and completed, in 2024, a Doctorate in Policy Research and Practice from Bath University (UK) on the evolution of resilience and its implementation in the aid sector.
