Project Summary
The aim of the project is to support in the increase of the likelihood of reaching a comprehensive settlement to the Cyprus problem by delivering dedicated and timely support to UN entities engaged in the Cyprus peace process. The initial actions include a series of household surveys and focus group discussions. The polling exercises will provide evidenced-based research data for an in-depth analysis and greater understanding of the fears, hopes, and attitudes of Cypriots on both sides of the divide.
Objectives
- Increased understanding of attitudes, fears, and hopes of the Cypriots on both sides of the divide.
- Enhanced data-based analytical capacity and strengthened reporting to the UN headquarters, the members of the UN Security Council, and relevant international stakeholders.
- Improved decision-making capacities within the UN in Cyprus and in headquarters in New York.
- Strengthened UN outreach and communication strategy on the Cyprus issue and increased opportunities for engagement with the two leaders, women, civil society, local media, academia, and other stakeholders in Cyprus and beyond.
