Democratic Republic of the Congo:

Protecting the Most Vulnerable

Renewed conflict has displaced over 6.5 million people across eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, with 900,000 facing acute protection risks. Many displaced people cannot return home, and over 2,000 cases of conflict-related sexual violence were reported in the past month alone.

The REVIVE project, in partnership with UNFPA, provides emergency shelters, livelihoods, and psychosocial support to 5,000 survivors of gender-based violence, while rehabilitating 15 community infrastructures benefiting 13,000 people.

At a launch event, Ambassador Jeong Hong Geun of the Republic of Korea, said, “Our support reflects Korea’s solidarity with displaced and vulnerable populations. These projects deliver tangible assistance and help restore hope, safety, and dignity to communities affected by conflict.”
