Stakeholder meeting provided on SDG Investor Mapping ​​​​​​​

In order to achieve sustainable development goals (SDGs), the "SDG Investor Mapping" is being prepared

To achieve sustainable development in Azerbaijan the implementation of the "Integrated National Financing Framework" (INFF) program was initiated by UNDP and the Government of Azerbaijan. Within the framework of the program "SDG Investor Mapping" is being realized in cooperation with the Istanbul International Center for the Development of the Private Sector of the UN.

On March 9, with the joint initiative of the National Coordinating Council for Sustainable Development, the Ministry of Economy and the United Nations Development Program an event on the research of the "SDG Investor Mapping" and the Investment Ecosystem was held.

Sahib Mammadov, Deputy Minister of Economy, emphasized that the implementation of commitments on global SDGs is one of the important components of the state policy in Azerbaijan, and noted that the state programs, strategies and action plan covering the social, economic, and environmental fields in the country are integrated into the goals and objectives of the SDGs. The deputy minister said that, the partnership between the state, private sector and international organizations will contribute to the fulfillment of commitments on SDGs and the transition to a "green economy".

Gülçin Salingan, Deputy Director of the UN Istanbul International Center for Private Sector Development, highlighted the role of the private sector in achieving SDGs, and the research of the factors affecting the investment environment in Azerbaijan within the framework of cooperation with the National Coordinating Council for Sustainable Development. Funda Suzer and Yasemin Bitlis, experts of the Center, made presentations on the preliminary results of the "SDG Investor Mapping" and the research on the Investment Ecosystem for Azerbaijan.

At the end, the questions of the event participants were answered.
