Osama Matri is a programme specialist at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), dedicated to strengthening resilient institutions through capacity strengthening, and economic empowerment. His experience with UNDP Libya spans multiple roles and phases, where he concentrated on governance, project/programme management early recovery, and resilience programming. In addition, Osama managed a project with UNDP Kuwait from 2016 to 2019, and has also worked within the energy sector, focusing on sustainability and social responsibility.
Since joining UNDP, Osama contributed to fostering new multistakeholder partnerships and investments in resilience, adopting twin approach of top down and bottom up as necessary to improve people’s daily lives and lay the foundation for sustainable, inclusive and equitable development
Osama holds a master’s degree in International Relations. He is committed to breaking down silos and advocating for people-centered, evidence based development, believing in people’s and societies abilities to shape their own future for their well-being and those of future generations.
