Corry Van Gaal serves as Head of Office at the Canadian High Commission in Zambia, where she leads diplomatic efforts to strengthen bilateral relations, advance sustainable development, and promote peace and security. With over 20 years of experience in international affairs, she has held senior roles at Global Affairs Canada, including Director for Food Security, Chair of the Global Agriculture and Food Security Program of the World Bank, and Special Advisor for Women Peace and Security on the Haiti Interdepartmental Task Force. Prior to joining the Canadian Foreign Service, Corry was a Trade Economist with Export Development Canada.
Corry brings a deep background in international relations, cultural diplomacy, and development cooperation, with global postings across South America and Africa. She has led Canada’s implementation of its innovative international assistance program and helped shape how Canada uses concessional finance to mobilize private capital to achieve the sustainable development goals. She has an MBA from the University of Ottawa.
