Rebuilding in Mykolaiv Oblast: Pathways to resilience and recovery (Based on reSCORE Ukraine 2024)

Rebuilding in Mykolaiv Oblast: Pathways to resilience and recovery (Based on reSCORE Ukraine 2024)

January 15, 2026

The study analyzes the socio-economic challenges and priorities of the region following large-scale destruction caused by the war. The collected data revealed significant infrastructure losses, reduced access to basic services, as well as the need for psychological support and safe living conditions.

Despite the difficulties, the region shows signs of economic recovery: the number of job vacancies is growing, the agricultural sector is being restored, and communities in Mykolaiv Oblast are identifying key development priorities — from housing provision to improving education and social services.

The study was prepared by UNDP in Ukraine and the Centre for Sustainable Peace and Democratic Development (SeeD) under the flagship “EU4Recovery – Empowering Communities in Ukraine” partnership between UNDP and the EU.
