(Compendium)
This compendium is designed for farmers, representatives of territorial communities, the scientific community, and civil society. Its purpose is to provide a scientific basis for the implementation of international sustainable agricultural practices, particularly in wet peatlands, adapted to the unique conditions of Ukraine.
This is the first collection in Ukraine to include scientific information on paludiculture (the cultivation of crops and animals on rewetted soils) as a sustainable land use method, which is already being implemented in European Union member states.
The compendium also offers recommendations for applying paludiculture practices on restored peatlands, combining sustainable solutions with economic efficiency.
The compendium was prepared with the support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Ukraine and the Global Environment Facility (GEF), as well as with contributions from experts from the Succow Foundation (Germany).
The opinions or conclusions belong to the authors of this collection and do not necessarily reflect the views of either the GEF, or UNDP and other UN agencies.
