Adapting to civilian life: Entry points to strengthen veterans’ reintegration in Ukraine (Based on reSCORE Ukraine 2024)

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Ukraine and the Centre for Sustainable Peace and Democratic Development (SeeD), under the flagship UNDP–EU partnership “EU4Recovery — Empowering Communities in Ukraine,” conducted a new study on veterans’ adaptation to civilian life.

It shows that many veterans face challenges in accessing services, overcoming injuries and trauma, and finding employment. At the same time, they demonstrate a strong sense of civic duty and growing interest in entrepreneurship. These insights will help guide the development of practical solutions to support veterans’ professional, social, and economic reintegration.
