Management of social services in conditions of war

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Ukraine invites you to take part in the training for those involved in the management of social services.

The goal of the training is to obtain or improve the knowledge necessary for the organization and provision of social services in communities in wartime conditions.

This training will be interesting and useful for the representatives of social service providers of all forms of ownership.

Duration: 4 days for 4 hours. 30 min

Estimated dates and training schedule:

• Day 1 – 20 September, 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

• Day 2 – 21 September, 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

• Day 3 – 27 September, 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

• Day 4 – 28 September, 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Time and duration of the training are approximate. Please take into account the possibility of air alarms during which the broadcast will not be carried out.

The training will be delivered online (via the ZOOM platform).

Registration for the training is open until 15 September via the link. Registered and selected participants will receive a letter with details no later than 16 September.

During the training, participants will acquire or improve knowledge about:

• regulations related to the organization and provision of social services, the Classifier of social services, the Law of Ukraine "On Social Services", requirements for social service providers, financing mechanisms;

• specifics of the development of volunteering in wartime conditions and opportunities to involve volunteers in providing assistance to certain categories of citizens;

• assessment of the needs and prioritization of social services provision in community;

• separate social services, most in demand in wartime conditions.

Each social service will be considered according to the same format, including an emphasis on the characteristics of representatives of different target groups, taking into account their needs. In particular, the following social services will be considered: information; consultancy; consultative crisis phone; emergency (crisis) intervention; mediation; representation of interests; providing asylum; short-term residence; supported accommodation; social support of families/persons in difficult life circumstances; social adaptation; social integration and reintegration; socio-psychological rehabilitation; care at home; temporary rest for parents or persons who replace them, who take care of children with disabilities (in war conditions) or persons who have incurable diseases, diseases that require long-term treatment; transport services; physical support of persons with disabilities who have disorders of the musculoskeletal system and move around in wheelchairs, with intellectual, sensory, physical, motor, mental and behavioral disorders; personal assistant.

Certification criteria

Upon completion of training, participants will receive electronic certificates from UNDP under the following conditions:

  • attendance of at least 2/3 of all sessions
  • active participation during the event
  • the camera is on for at least 2/3 of the sessions
  • filling out the feedback form

The training is conducted within the framework of the project "Strengthening Crisis Management and Enhancing the emergency response management of the Government of Ukraine" implemented by the United Nations Development Program in Ukraine together with the Office of the President of Ukraine and the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine.
