Ashgabat, 4 July 2023: The study visit, organized within the framework of the project “Strengthening institutional, statistical and information -technical capacity of the State Statistics Committee of Turkmenistan”, jointly implemented by UNDP and TurkmenStat, took place from June 26 to 30, 2023 in Yerevan, Armenia. During the visit, the Turkmen delegation, consisting of representatives from the State Statistics Committee of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan, was able to gain insights into Armenia's experiences and best practices on financial accounts compilation and explore potential areas of collaboration.

A five-day visit included meetings with representatives of the Ministries and state entities of the Republic of Armenia, including the Ministry of Finance, the Statistics Committee of the Republic of Armenia (ArmStat), the Central Bank and the State Revenue Committee. In the course of the visit, members of the Turkmen delegation learnt about the statistical methodology and tools for elaboration of financial accounts practiced in Armenia and introduced partners to the methodological issues, data sources and compilation procedure for financial accounts in Turkmenistan, including the state of transition to SNA 2008.
