UNDP Türkiye supports the development of Turkish language training programmes for areas of profession

Turkish language training programmes for production, service and retail sectors aim to increase social cohesion and employability.
16 April, Ankara – The "Skills Development for Improved Employability Project" in partnership with Turkish Employment Agency (İŞKUR) within the scope of the EU-funded The Integration through Employment Support in Urban and Rural Environments (INSURE) Program has started to work.
The project aims to enhance employment opportunities forSyrians under Temporary Protection, individuals under international protection and host communities to enable them to participate more strongly in the labor market. Training programmes, prepared at A2 and B1 levels, are designed for production, service and retails sectors.
During the three-day workshop held in Ankara between 14-16 April, draft training programmes prepared in cooperation with the Ministry of National Education (MoNE) Directorate General of Life Long Learning and Anadolu University were evaluated with the participation of expert trainers, academics and representatives of MoNE . During the workshop, participants discussed the vocational context in language teaching and shared their views on the structure, outcomes and teaching materials of the programme.
Language training programmes are designed not only to improve basic language skills, but also to cover communication scenarios for vocational fields. Thus, it is aimed for participants to integrate in the workplace faster by using Turkish effectively.
The programmes, which will be taught after the approval process, are an important step to support individuals active participation in both social life and the workforce in Türkiye.
