Global Biodiversity Framework Early Action Support (GBF-EAS)

The GBF-EAS project, led by UNDP and funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF), empowers 69 countries, including Tajikistan, to fast-track their readiness to implement the post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework. Through targeted grants and global technical support, the project helps countries align their national biodiversity strategies (NBSAPs), strengthen their monitoring systems, enhance policy coherence, and mobilise biodiversity finance.

Umbrella Programme to Support Development of Biodiversity Finance Plans

To support Tajikistan in developing a comprehensive National Biodiversity Finance Plan (NBFP) that identifies sustainable finance solutions to close the biodiversity funding gap and align with the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF).

NBSAP: Umbrella Programme to Support NBSAP Update and the 7th National Reports

The NBSAP Umbrella Programme supports 69 countries, including Tajikistan, in updating their biodiversity strategies and 7th National Reports to align with the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework. With a $35.6 million GEF grant, it will provide technical assistance, stakeholder engagement, and capacity building over 42 months, starting in May 2024.
