Ivana Zivkovic, Director of UNDP's Regional Bureau for Europe and CIS, commenced her visit to Tajikistan with a meeting with the UNDP Tajikistan team. Explore this and other moments captured in photos.

Ivana Zivkovic with Sirojiddin Muhriddin, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan. The parties reaffirmed their dedication to advancing cooperation for sustainable development; and discussed Tajikistan's global initiatives and commitments to the International Year of Glaciers Protection; highlighting the 30 years of successful collaboration between UNDP and the Government of Tajikistan.  

Dialogue at the Ministry of Justice with the Minister Muzaffar Ashuriyon over joint projects supporting Civil Registry modernization and access to justice in Tajikistan. The project that is being supported by the European Union and the Government of Switzerland.  

Visit to the Civil Registry Office in Norak district, Northern Tajikistan. With the support of the European Union and the Government of Switzerland UNDP implements a project to modernize Tajikistan's CR system. RD's mission to Tajikistan takes place while celebrating 20 years of fruitful cooperation between UNDP and the EU in Tajikistan and around the world.

At Norak Dam built in 1980 that boasts a nine-unit power capacity of 2,700 MW, crucial for regional energy needs. Standing at 300m tall, it also plays a vital role in irrigation and agriculture, enhancing productivity in Tajikistan and the region.

UNDP is the first UN agency in Tajikistan to include an electric car in its local fleet of vehicles. Ivana Zivkovic, UNDP Regional Director for Europe and the CIS spearheaded the launch of the new eco-friendly car.

Meeting with selected civil society organizations involved in the implementation of UNDP Projects supporting the development of Tajikistan.

Dialogue with Bahodur Sheralizoda, Chairman of the Committee for Environmental Protection. The parties reviewed joint efforts contributing to climate change adaptation, promotion of renewable energy, biodiversity conservation, and better use of water resources.

Meeting with Bunafsha Faiziddinzoda, Char of the Committee for Women and Family Affairs. The discussion focused on a join initiative funded by USAID to combat violence against women and girls which aims at creating a safer and more inclusive environment for all.

At the Ministry of Economy and Trade of Tajikistan, discussing the sustainable development goals implementation with Deputy Minister Ashurboy Solehzoda.
