This initiative, led by Suriname’s Ministry of Land Policy and Forest Management (GBB) under a Partial National Implementation Modality (NIM), aims to enhance the sustainable management of the Surinamese Amazon’s protected and productive landscapes.
Strengthen protected area (PA) management. Promote sustainable livelihoods through agroforestry, nature tourism, and non-timber forest products (NTFPs). Improve land use planning and monitoring systems. Develop inclusive, gender-sensitive governance and policy frameworks. Protected Landscapes: Improve conservation and reduce threats.
