The project aims to build the resilience of Suriname’s coastal communities through inclusive, gender-responsive coastal zone management, mangrove conservation, and sustainable use. It focuses on strengthening legal frameworks, enhancing community participation, and increasing sustainable income generation, especially for women and youth, from mangrove-based value chains such as honey, fisheries, and eco-tourism.
