We extend our deepest condolences for the loss of life and widespread damage caused by the recent series of earthquakes in western Afghanistan. These natural disasters have rendered many families vulnerable and in dire need of assistance. 

As recovery operations commence, the UNDP with the UN is assessing needs and initiating support to affected communities. With our UN sister agencies and partners, UNDP will support affected communities to recover and rebuild through this immediate crisis, and to deepen their resilience in the face of such disasters.

We stand by the people of Afghanistan through this disaster.
