Youth4Climate Annual event:

To enhance the comprehensive strategic positioning of the Youth4Climate agenda

The annual Youth4Climate event is dedicated to enhancing the results achieved by the Initiative from year to year, facilitating and legitimizing the work of young people. The event provides an enabling, safe, and inclusive space for young climate leaders worldwide and nurture youth and climate platforms, networks, and partnerships for accelerated impact.

In 2022, the “Youth4Climate: Powering Action” was a hybrid event on the margins of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York  which was co-convened by Italy and UNDP. It spotlighted youth-led actions under the four core themes of the Youth4Climate Manifesto , namely: Youth Driving Ambition; Sustainable Recovery; Non-State Actors’ Engagement; a Climate-Conscious Society; and it formally kicked off the Youth4Climate Initiative in all its components.

An agile and youth-inclusive governance body (Advisory Committee) has been established for this event, ensuring that meaningful youth engagement is modeled.

The Youth4Climate Event 2022 was also an occasion to launch the Youth4Climate Platform and (Component 2 of the programme) the first Youth4Climate Challenge (Component 3 of the programme).
