More people are living in crisis than at any time in a generation, while fewer are finding a way out. Moving Beyond Crisis puts development from day one at the heart of UNDP’s approach: restoring essential services, livelihoods and infrastructure, while strengthening institutions, rule of law and social cohesion.

UNDP and its partners work across every phase of crisis: preventing and preparing before crisis strikes, responding and recovering when it hits, and transitioning and transforming beyond it. The Action Agenda focuses on five building blocks: analytics; services, infrastructure and institutions; livelihoods, jobs and economies; peacebuilding and social cohesion; and climate and nature.
