Lessons from National Action Coalitions in Four Pilot Countries
This learning report presents the first cross-country insights from UNDP’s initiative Strengthening Information Ecosystems in Elections through Global and National Linkages (SIGNAL), which supports the establishment of National Action Coalitions (NACs) to advance information integrity in elections.
Drawing on data from Bolivia, Chile, Ethiopia and Zambia, the report highlights emerging challenges, good practices and early results from coalition-building efforts aimed at strengthening the capacity of electoral management bodies, improving multi-stakeholder collaboration and expanding the use of data and evidence to address information pollution. It consolidates lessons from the first year of implementation and offers preliminary recommendations to guide future programming. The report provides a detailed overview of NAC activities, governance models and country contexts, offering a practical resource for practitioners, policymakers and partners working to build more resilient information ecosystems throughout the electoral cycle.
