Phase I–II Implementation Report (2024–2025): Ukraine, Programme of Assistance to the Palestinian People (PAPP), Moldova, Chad, Mongolia and Burundi

In 2024–2025, in partnership with the Government of France, UNDP implemented two phases of the Global Women, Peace and Security Initiative across Ukraine, Gaza/PAPP, Moldova, Chad, Mongolia and Burundi, investing €2 million to advance women’s leadership in peacebuilding, recovery and climate resilience. Guided by the four pillars of United Nations Security Council resolution 1325—participation, protection, prevention, and relief and recovery—the initiative responded to diverse fragile and conflict-affected settings.

Across the two phases, the initiative generated tangible results in five priority areas: women’s economic empowerment, leadership and participation, social cohesion, climate resilience and institutional strengthening. Reflecting two years of implementation, this report brings together results, success stories and lessons learned across the six countries, demonstrating how flexible, country-driven investments in women’s leadership can strengthen recovery, resilience and peacebuilding and inform future Women, Peace and Security programming.
