Ecosystem Diagnostics Study on Youth Entrepreneurship in the Philippines
April 14, 2026
Developed under Youth Co:Lab, a regional programme co-led by UNDP and Citi Foundation, the study highlights the role of an ecosystem of entrepreneurial support organizations in providing training, opening access and opportunities for market and funding, and creating enabling environment and youth-friendly policies for Filipino youth entrepreneurs to start, manage, and grow their businesses. The study was conducted by Asia Society for Social Improvement and Sustainable Transformation (ASSIST) Asia and shaped by the voices of young entrepreneurs, government stakeholders, and ecosystem partners.
Using Youth Co:Lab’s 6-Domain Framework on Entrepreneurship, the study mapped the current state of youth entrepreneurship ecosystem in the country, highlighting opportunities, persistent barriers, and areas where stronger support is needed. It also explored critical issues such as access to finance, regulatory hurdles, and the availability of long-term mentorship. The study calls policymakers, government and development partners, youth advocates, and other youth entrepreneurship champions to collectively act in strengthening the ecosystem for Filipino youth entrepreneurs.
