October 26, 2026
This report presents the portfolio-level results of the Climate Promise projects funded through Japan’s FY2024 Supplementary Budget across nine countries. Through human-centered stories, it demonstrates how project interventions are improving lives, strengthening resilience, and supporting the implementation of Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and national climate priorities.
The report highlights tangible achievements at the country level, including progress in climate adaptation, disaster risk reduction, early warning systems, and human security. It illustrates the benefits delivered to vulnerable communities, local institutions, and development systems, while underscoring the link between climate action and broader sustainable development outcomes.
In addition, the report showcases the value of globally coordinated support provided through the Climate Promise, including technical assistance on sustainable mobility and carbon markets, as well as South-South knowledge exchange that enables countries to share experiences, replicate good practices, and accelerate climate action.
By combining local results with global learning and collaboration, the report demonstrates how the Japan-funded portfolio is helping countries translate climate commitments into action, strengthen implementation capacity, foster innovation, and deliver measurable climate and development outcomes.
