Belgrade, 26 August 2026 – With the support of the Kunming Biodiversity Fund and in cooperation with the Ministry of Environmental Protection, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is launching a “Public Call for Project Proposals for the Restoration of Degraded Priority Habitats and the Establishment of Ecological Corridors.”

The aim of the public call is to support, through co-financing, the restoration of at least 200 hectares of degraded priority habitats and the connection of 10 km² of ecosystems through the establishment of ecological corridors within or between protected areas in Serbia.

Innovative project proposals involving the implementation of active measures for habitat restoration and connectivity may be submitted by protected area managers, public and private companies, local self-government units, academic and research institutions, and organizations.

Applicants whose proposals meet the eligibility criteria will receive expert support to further develop their ideas into feasible projects. Projects deemed most ready for implementation will then be eligible for co-financing of up to 70% of the total project value, with a maximum grant amount of USD 150,000 per project.

Interested applicants may apply exclusively via the online application form, which is available only in Serbian. The call is open until 7 October 2026.

This public call has been launched within the initiative “Restoration and Connectivity of Priority Habitats for Species Conservation in Serbia,” implemented with financial support of the Kunming Biodiversity Fund and in partnership with the Ministry of Environmental Protection by UNDP.
