Qatar Supports UN Initiative to Advance Political Dialogue in Libya

The State of Qatar has signed a financial contribution agreement to support the Libyan Political Dialogue Project, a joint initiative implemented by the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
The signing ceremony took place at the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Tripoli and was attended by His Excellency Dr Khalid Mohammed bin Zaben Al-Dosari, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Libya; Her Excellency Madam Hanna Tetteh, Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of UNSMIL; and Dr Sophie Kemkhadze, UNDP Resident Representative in Libya.
The contribution aims to strengthen inclusive political dialogue. Through this contribution, UNDP will support UNSMIL in advancing activities that facilitate broader participation and help build confidence in peaceful, political solutions.
UNSMIL and UNDP expressed appreciation for the contribution and emphasized the importance of continued support for Libyan-led dialogue initiatives.
