Shariff Aguak, Maguindanao del Sur — The Ministry of the Interior and Local Government (MILG), in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), launched the first #DigitalBangsamoro center in Maguindanao del Sur, under the Localizing e-Governance for Accelerated Provision of Services (LeAPS) Program. This marks another milestone in advancing digital transformation through localized solutions in the Bangsamoro region.
The center, located in the municipality of Shariff Aguak, will serve the residents and its nearby municipalities by providing access to various frontline services through the Digital Bangsamoro Web Portal. These include birth registration, business and building permit applications, health appointments, zoning clearances, tourist bookings, vehicle permits, and real property assessments, among others.
MILG Deputy Minister Eddie Ali described the initiative as part of the region’s continuing digital transformation. “It is a symbol of empowerment, bringing government services closer to our people, reaching the digital divide, and building the capacity of local government units to serve effectively and efficiently,” he said.
Vice Mayor Mohammad Akmad Ampatuan Jr. welcomed the development and emphasized its benefit to the entire municipality. “This facility will serve all 13 barangays of Shariff Aguak and ease access to essential services for our constituents,” he stressed.

Other #DigitalBangsamoro centers have also been established and now operate in the municipalities of Piagapo, Butig, and Marantao in Lanao del Sur, and Datu Blah Sinsuat in Maguindanao del Norte. These municipalities have begun integrating the system into their local operations. Shariff Aguak, the local government plans to maximize the newly opened Digital Center by promoting its use among residents, integrating more online services, and strengthening staff capacity to handle a wider range of transactions. Recent orientations on the center’s call center features, queuing systems, and citizen assistance tools have equipped personnel to operate the system efficiently, ensuring faster processing, improved accessibility, and greater engagement with local government services.
The initiative aims to bridge service delivery gaps at the local level and supports the implementation of BARMM’s e-Governance Master Plan. The roadmap targets all 124 municipalities, two cities, and thousands of barangays in the Bangsamoro region, intending to build a trusted, inclusive, and digitally enabled governance system. [E]
