Baguio City Voluntary Local Review of the Sustainable Development Goals

June 2, 2025

Anchored on its long-term vision, Baguio 2043: A Livable, Inclusive, and Creative City, Baguio City, in partnership with UNDP Philippines, undertook its first Voluntary Local Review (VLR) to assess its progress and alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Leveraging tools from the social innovation platforms (SIP), the city engaged diverse stakeholders to surface lived experiences and collective insights, focusing on nine SDGs: 2 (Zero Hunger), 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), 4 (Quality Education), 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), 10 (Reduced Inequalities), 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and 13 (Climate Action). The report highlighted significant progress in areas such as sustainable cities and communities and climate actions while also identifying key challenges that require accelerated efforts to achieve the SDGs.
