State of the Public Services Kenya Survey report

The project on State of the Public Service in Africa (SOPSA) was framed by the AU to improve the quality of governance and public administration in Africa. The SOPSA programme was implemented under the auspices of the African Union Commission (AUC) with the aim of enabling African states to enhance development in order to eliminate gaps that exists in human resource capacity to deliver on the AU vision.

The purpose of the Kenyan research was assess the current situation and provides recommendations on how to improve service delivery in the Water, Education and Health sectors. The study examined the capability of the public service in Kenya to effectively deliver water, health and education services; gauged citizens‟ experiences regarding the quality of public service delivery in the water, health and education sectors in Kenya; documented case studies for shared learning; and made recommendations for public service reforms.
