This knowledge product is a result of the ongoing collaboration and partnership between Nigeria’s Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Nigeria country office. The collaboration reflects a shared commitment to support Nigeria’s businesses in maximizing opportunities under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) framework. The tool was developed under the overall guidance of Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, the Honourable Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment of Nigeria and Elsie Attafuah, UNDP Resident Representative, Nigeria.
This first-in-series compact market intelligence tool, developed through our close collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, is a strategic resource for businesses, policymakers and trade stakeholders. It targets 13 countries in Eastern and Southern Africa, regions that together represent nearly half of Africa’s population and host some of the continent’s most integrated trade blocs.
The tool demystifies access to these markets, offering product-specific insights, regulatory landscapes and tariff structures, starting with three sectors critical to Nigeria’s trade repositioning: agro-processing, cosmetics and beauty products, and textiles and fashion.
