Electoral Transparency and Credibility

An agreement between the Republic of Mozambique and UNDP was signed in September 2018 to launch a new electoral project with focus on strengthening the capacity of the Electoral Management Bodies (EMBs), and enhance the transparency and credibility of the electoral process.

The agreement was based on the document that guides the project to provide tailored technical assistance to EMBs to strengthen their capacities through electoral cycle approach, contributing to the process of creating and sustaining an environment for inclusive and responsive electoral and political processes. Additionally, broad range stakeholders’ capacity is strengthened to ensure the sustainability of assistance and consolidation of local and national democracy.

The project started activities during the last quarter of 2018 with some trainings and support to Technical Secretariat for the Administration of Elections STAE (Secretariado Técnico de Administração Eleitoral) and National Police (Policia da República de Moçambique).
