The campaign for the International Anti-Corruption Day (IACD) 2025, “Uniting with Youth Against Corruption: Shaping Tomorrow's Integrity,” shines a spotlight on the vital role of young people who refuse to accept corruption. At a time when our world faces economic crises, climate disruption, conflicts, and rapid technological change, we are also witnessing the largest generation of young people in history advocating for integrity, accountability, and justice. This year, we also mark the 10th anniversary of the adoption of the landmark United Nations (UN) Security Council Resolution 2250 on Youth, Peace and Security. It is a reminder that both integrity and youth inclusion are foundational to lasting peace.

For many young people, corruption is not an abstract concept or a distant political problem. It erodes hope, restricts opportunities, and threatens their future by limiting access to jobs, silencing their voices, and diverting resources meant to improve lives.

Yet, across the world, young people are harnessing innovative tools including social media, and AI-enabled platforms to mobilize communities, expose wrongdoing, challenge misinformation, and build powerful movements that transcend borders. The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is partnering with young people to tackle corruption. This includes supporting the establishment and empowerment of youth-led networks across the world — providing platforms, both offline and online — for young people to innovate, drive transparency and lead transformative change.

UNDP has zero tolerance for fraud and corruption. It remains committed to continuously improving its transparency and accountability through robust internal controls, independent evaluations, rigorous audits and investigations and adherence to the highest ethical standards.

In solidarity with young people — the leaders of both today and tomorrow — let us commit to building a future grounded in integrity, fairness, and hope.
