April 10, 2023
UNDP has recently selected two digital solutions, that are based on open-source technology, to be further developed in Moldova. They will be developed by Like-Media and DigiNet Pro LTDs, which were awarded with grants as part of a competition conducted in partnership with the e-Governance Agency.
The selected initiatives will be built as open-source solutions, with the potential to become a digital public good (in line with the standard outlined by the Digital Public Good Alliance). Open-source technologies can facilitate timely and effective response to many ongoing challenges, including the energy crisis in the Republic of Moldova that is pushing more people into poverty. For the development of each solution, US$40,000 will be allocated. The grants are offered within “Accelerating digital transformation in the public sector in the Republic of Moldova” project.
Like-Media LTD will develop a data analytics and intelligence module within the compensatii.gov.md platform that will analyze the data collected to inform decisions of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Republic of Moldova on targeting vulnerable beneficiaries through their policies and programmes.
DigiNet Pro LTD will adapt their digital invoicing solution e-cont.md for public sector contractors and companies, so as they are able to receive and process electronic invoices.
The “Accelerating digital transformation in the public sector in the Republic of Moldova” project aims to encouraging the private ICT sector of Moldova to generate innovative solutions for the digitalization of public and private digital services, as well as IT solutions for the non-IT sector.
