Supporting Cooperatives in the Wheat Value Chain

This grant supports agricultural cooperatives in Lebanon’s wheat value chain to sustain and grow their operations. It aims to strengthen local producers, boost production efficiency, and expand market reach—contributing to Lebanon’s economic recovery.
It is implemented by UNDP and Funded by the German Government through KfW Development Bank.
Who is Eligible?
- Registered cooperative operating in agriculture/agri-food, focused on wheat (soft or hard).
- Registered with the Ministry of Agriculture’s General Directorate of Cooperatives.
- In operation for at least 3 years (not home-based).
- Submitted 2023 budget to the Directorate.
- Have an official cooperative bank account (not individual).
- Cooperatives with at least 10% female members are prioritized. At least 30% of grants will go to women-led cooperatives.
What the Grant is For & Benefits
Grants can be used to:
- Sustain and expand production capacity.
- Purchase or rehabilitate machinery and equipment.
- Upgrade to energy-efficient tools to reduce costs.
- Buy essential raw materials.
- Access new markets through local fairs, e-commerce, and digital platforms.
- Selected cooperatives will also receive additional technical assistance to enhance operations.
What Does the Grant Cover
- Cash and in-kind assistance to purchase essential materials, equipment, or machinery, as well as their rehabilitation.
- Training and support in areas such as business management, market access, and sustainability practices.

- Applications submitted by email, courier, or in person will not be accepted.
- All documents must be in Arabic or English, and budgets must be in USD.
