Echoes of Beirut: A Cultural Exhibition Capturing the City’s Memory

Beirut, 30 January 2026 – Echoes of Beirut, a photography exhibition documenting the city’s memory from the civil war to the Beirut Port explosion, opened on Thursday, 29 January at Beit Beirut – Sodeco.

The opening ceremony brought together Mr. Haitham Sayyad, Advisor and the representative of Governor of Beirut, Judge Marwan Abboud, H.E. the Ambassador of Canada to Lebanon, Mr. Gregory Galligan, UNDP Resident Representative Ms. Blerta Aliko, UN Women Resident Rpresentative, Ms. Gielan Elmessiri and representatives of official institutions, as well as local and international partners

Through photography, Echoes of Beirut traces the human stories embedded in the city’s spaces, offering visitors a space to reflect on the past while imagining the future.

The exhibition, organized by UNDP in partnership with UN Women and funded by the Government of Canada, will run until Sunday, 1 February 2026.
