Partnership with the Government of Finland 2026

February 5, 2026

Since 2009, Finland has supported Kyrgyzstan’s development journey, focusing on enhancing trade capacities, women's empowerment, and access to justice.  As UNDP Kyrgyzstan’s largest government contributor, Finland has contributed over USD 10 million to UNDP Kyrgyzstan since 2009, reinforcing its long-standing commitment to development cooperation in the country.

Two major programmes, “Aid for Trade for Central Asia (Phase V)” and “Access to Justice (Phase III)”, are now in their final implementation phase (2022–2026), delivering meaningful results across policy, institutional, and community levels, having contributed significantly to advancing inclusive economic growth, human rights, and legal empowerment.

In addition to country-level support, the Government of Finland contributes to UNDP’s core resources, ensuring the organization remains agile and responsive in delivering sustainable development solutions worldwide.
