The Global Environment Facility (GEF) and UNDP partner to protect the global environment while advancing national priorities and local development. In the Kyrgyz Republic, this collaboration is instrumental in promoting nature-based solutions, preserving biodiversity, empowering communities, and strengthening resilience to climate change. 

Since 2017, more than $8.2 million in GEF funding has supported initiatives that safeguard Kyrgyzstan’s ecosystems through an integrated landscape approach, combining biodiversity conservation, sustainable land and forest management, and inclusive development.
