Training on International ISO Standards for Food Safety and Quality Management

UNDP Kyrgyzstan

The training programme focuses on ISO 22000/22002 and ISO 9001/19011, which are among the key international standards used to strengthen food safety management systems, quality management practices and auditing processes. The programme is designed to provide participants with practical knowledge and tools that can be applied in their daily professional work.

The initiative responds to the need to further strengthen Kyrgyzstan’s quality infrastructure, including standardization, conformity assessment, certification and food safety systems. Greater practical application of international standards is important for improving the competitiveness of local enterprises and supporting their readiness to access domestic, regional and international markets.

The training will combine expert-led sessions, practical exercises, interactive discussions and case-based learning. Participants will discuss how international ISO standards can be applied in institutional and business settings, including in relation to management systems, process documentation, risk-based approaches, internal audit and continual improvement.

The programme brought together representatives of the Bishkek Center for Testing, Certification and Metrology, Kyrgyzstandart and relevant departments involved in conformity assessment and standardization.

The training is implemented within the framework of UNDP’s Aid for Trade project, which supports inclusive growth, economic diversification and improved competitiveness through the development of productive capacities and trade-oriented private sector support.

By strengthening the professional capacities of specialists working with food safety, quality management and audit systems, the training is expected to contribute to the further development of Kyrgyzstan’s quality infrastructure and support local enterprises in better meeting international requirements.
