Strengthening Micro-Businesses with Tailored Support

The In Motion methodology, implemented under the UNDP Economic Resilience Programme, was delivered in the Municipality of Shtime/Štimlje, supporting 11 selected micro-businesses operating across services, retail, beauty, tourism, media, and production sectors.

The programme focused on improving business performance, visibility, and sustainability through hands-on, demand-driven support tailored to each enterprise’s specific needs.

Over a four-month implementation period, these businesses received:

personalized consultancy and tailored technical assistance,
commercial image and branding upgrades,
structured group training sessions,
equipment and tools aligned with concrete operational requirements.

Key Results

232 hours of total support delivered, including 132 hours of tailored technical assistance and 100 hours of group training,
12% average monthly increase in sales,
€1,214.29 average monthly sales increase per beneficiary,
45% increase in the average value of business assets,
94% of supported businesses now actively implement marketing strategies,
45% of businesses owned or managed by women,
counterpart private investment mobilized up to €5,400.00.

The experience in Shtime/Štimlje demonstrates how targeted advisory support, branding improvements, and strategic investments can generate measurable results for micro-enterprises, while contributing to inclusive local economic development.
