Micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in the Kyzylorda region are leaping toward digital empowerment with the launch of Digital Kyzylorda, a workshop series designed to equip local entrepreneurs with essential digital skills.

This initiative, supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Government of the Republic of Korea, aims to strengthen economic resilience and spark innovation in the region.

The sessions will take place from April 15 to 22 in seven districts: Aral, Karmakshy, Kazaly, Shieli, Syrdarya, Zhalagash, and Zhanakorgan. Participants will explore practical approaches to using digital technologies to grow their businesses, enhance operational efficiency, and reach new markets.

The curriculum spans a wide range of topics, from managing social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok to mastering the basics of digital marketing and e-commerce. Entrepreneurs will gain hands-on experience with tools for automating business processes, including customer relationship management (CRM) systems and project management software. The programme also explores the practical applications of artificial intelligence — from chatbots to personalized marketing — and covers essential financial tools such as electronic payments and online banking. Guidance will also be provided on accessing national and international business support programmes.

In addition to expert-led sessions and real-world case studies, participants will receive one-on-one consultations tailored to their unique business needs, ensuring that knowledge is not only shared but applied.

“At UNDP, we believe that sustainable development begins at the local level. In the Kyzylorda region, we are proud to support entrepreneurs creating jobs and shaping their communities’ future. These workshops lay the groundwork for long-term, inclusive growth—driven by the people, for the people,”
said Katarzyna Wawiernia, UNDP Resident Representative in Kazakhstan.

This initiative forms part of a broader UNDP effort under the “SDG partnerships on supporting MSMEs through inclusive digital transformation,” implemented in collaboration with the UNDP Seoul Policy Centre (USPC).

At its core, the programme is committed to expanding access to digital opportunities and fostering inclusive economic growth by supporting youth and women entrepreneurs. By integrating best practices from the Republic of Korea, the workshops aim to leave a lasting impact, enhancing digital literacy, expanding employment opportunities, and improving livelihoods across the Kyzylorda region.
