The preparation of the Seventh National Biodiversity Report is a key element of Kazakhstan’s commitment under the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD). The document will reflect the country’s progress in conserving rare and endangered species, expanding protected areas, and promoting sustainable natural resource management, as well as the risks and gaps that remain. Ensuring that the reporting process is transparent, inclusive, and evidence-based remains a top priority.

Under the CBD, all Parties are required to submit national reports every four years, outlining progress in implementing biodiversity-related policies. Republic of Kazakhstan will officially submit its report to the CBD Secretariat in February 2026. The report will represent country's important contribution to global stocktaking of progress in implementing Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework.
