“Let’s save the snow leopard together’’ drawing competition, dedicated to the International Snow Leopard Day

The International Snow Leopard Day is celebrated around the world on October 23rd. To mark this date, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), together with the Forestry and Wildlife Committee of the Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, holds a drawing contest “Kar barysyn birge sahtayyk!” (Let’s save the snow leopard together!) dedicated to the protection and conservation of this rare animal.

The contest is held for children and adolescents from 7 to 16 years old living in the regions of the snow leopard habitat in Kazakhstan: Altai, Katon-Karagai, Kurchum, Zaysan, Urdzhar districts of the East Kazakhstan region, Kegen, Sarkan, Talgar districts of the Almaty region, Tolebi, Tulkibas, Kazygurt districts of the Turkestan region, Merke, Zhualy districts of the Zhambyl region.
