UNDP, in collaboration with the Center for Economics and Development Studies (CEDS) of Universitas Padjadjaran and Rumah Zakat, conducted a study to analyze and elaborate on the opportunity for zakat to be distributed for social protection and women empowerment. This study promotes a collaborative model between zakat institutions and government stakeholders in Indonesia’s development agenda. The study also covers women’s contribution to the economy, the potential of zakat as a country with the largest Muslim population, and a case study on the Village Empowerment Program (Desa Berdaya) implemented by Rumah Zakat.
