This report presents the findings of the Thematic Bonds Market Investor Survey in Indonesia, jointly conducted by UNDP and the Financial Services Authority (OJK). It examines investor perceptions, market trends, and the key challenges surrounding thematic bonds and sukuk, including those carrying green, social, and sustainability labels that are increasingly used to finance sustainable development. The study provides insights into market dynamics, investor preferences, and issuer constraints, highlighting the factors driving demand for responsible investment as well as the barriers to broader adoption. It also explores differences between institutional and retail investors, the current dominance of green instruments, and opportunities to expand other thematic issuances. The findings aim to strengthen collaboration among regulators, issuers, and investors to build a more robust and inclusive sustainable finance market in Indonesia.
