“Ação Digital COVID-19” showcases the role of digital in the pandemic in Guinea-Bissau

On the 30th of November, Innovalab and the High Commission for COVID-19, with the support from UNDP Guinea-Bissau and MTN, organized the event “Ação Digital COVID-19”, which brought together health experts and development practitioners to discuss the role of digital solutions and technologies in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic in the country. Dr. José Levy, UNDP’s Deputy Resident Representative for Programme in Guinea-Bissau, was one of the keynote speakers for the event, highlighting the importance of digital transformation for the health sector as well as the work UNDP Country Office has been doing in terms of promoting and supporting the digital ecosystem in Guinea-Bissau. UNDP’s John Wonghi Ngum, Head of the M&E/Programme Unit of the Health cluster, and Maria Julia Torres, Digital Transformation Focal Point, also took part in the event as speakers, sharing information and insights on the role of digital tools in the health sector and the role of partnerships for digital transformation, respectively.
