July 21, 2025
The Digital Agribusiness Map is a fully integrated, interactive platform providing a regional diagnostic of the Egypt’s AgriTech and climate-smart agriculture landscape.
Developed under the “Making Egypt’s Communities & Agri-Food Systems Resilient” project — in partnership with the Ministry of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation, and funded by the Government of Japan — the map is designed to support evidence-based policymaking, private sector investment, and inclusive agricultural innovation.
What Will You Find in the Map?
This user-friendly, clickable tool brings together geospatial analysis, sector-level data, and startup mapping to provide deep, localized insights. Each of Egypt’s four main agro-ecological zones — the Delta, Northern Coastal Region, Upper Egypt, and Desert Regions — is assessed across five core dimensions:
1. Climate Stressors by Region
Identifies the five major climate stressors — soil salinity, flooding, drought, heatwaves, and water scarcity — and their impact across regions. Each zone includes a concise analysis to guide localized climate adaptation strategies.
2. Local AgriTech Startups
Discover up to five climate-smart or AgriTech startups per region, showcasing the real-world technologies being deployed — from smart irrigation systems and soil sensors to drought-resilient seed varieties.
3. Crop Trends & Distribution
Access insights on the five major crops per region, including data on seasonality, productivity trends, and emerging diversification patterns to inform market-driven agriculture development.
4. AgriTech Uptake & Readiness
Explore five key indicators that reflect the readiness and uptake of AgriTech solutions in each region — from infrastructure to institutional support and awareness levels.
5. Financial Inclusion & Market Integration
Assesses five critical enablers for agricultural finance and market access per region, identifying gaps and opportunities to foster inclusive growth and investment.
Why It Matters
