2024 has been a year marked by growing regional crises that reverberated far beyond the country’s borders. The ongoing war in Gaza and Sudan have caused immense human suffering and had serious socio-economic and humanitarian consequences for neighboring countries, including Egypt.

As a key actor in the Arab region and the African continent, Egypt has demonstrated leadership and resilience; managing the spillover effects, including increased demands on public services, disrupted trade flows, and heightened pressures on host communities.

UNDP Egypt remained committed in its support to the Government of Egypt, working alongside national stakeholders and international development partners to deliver meaningful results. Together, we advanced Egypt’s green, inclusive economic growth, social cohesion, and climate action.
